Boskalis signs 5-year contract with Transmission Capital Partners

Boskalis Subsea Cables & Flexibles – formerly VBMS – announced over the weekend that it has signed a five-year subsea cable repair framework agreement with UK Transmission Capital Partners (TCP).

Under the agreement Boskalis will be supporting the transmission links between the onshore grid and the Barrow, Gunfleet Sands, Ormonde, Robin Rigg, Lincs and Westermost Rough offshore wind farms for which TCP is responsible as Offshore Transmission Owner.

The framework agreement provides access to Boskalis’ cable integrity solutions which it launched mid-2017, including the Boskalis-owned universal joints, which are deployable for many different types of cable including all of the cables within TCP’s portfolio. Boskalis is currently the only contractor with a proven track record in installing this joint into a live wind farm.

TCP will also have immediate access to the extensive fleet of Boskalis vessels and engineering expertise for complete cable integrity solutions. Boskalis will deploy its repair spread from its certified cable storage facility in the port of Vlissingen in the Netherlands, with direct access to the North Sea. (Source: Boskalis)
