With Sjoerd Sieburgh Sjoerdsma we have brought in an experienced director who is used to realizing large projects. “Sjoerd Sieburgh Sjoerdsma worked at Lagerwey as director Licensing & Ventures.

Before that, he was Director Business Development at RWE and Essent and Energy Director at Akzo. He has developed several large power plants and projects. The SDE subsidy was awarded to Windpark Zeewolde at the beginning of this year. The project will now purchase wind turbines and infrastructure and organize bank financing. After this, the construction of the new wind turbines starts and the construction of the many existing scattered turbines starts.

Windpark Zeewolde B.V. is the property of a unique collaboration of more than 200 farmers. It is an initiative in local ownership outside the energy companies. With 320 MW it is also the largest local initiative in the Netherlands.

It is also the largest wind project on land in the Netherlands. The current 220 scattered mills make way for 91 larger, more modern turbines that together generate two and a half times more energy. As from 2020, Windpark Zeewolde will supply green electricity for more than a quarter of a million households. For more information, visit www.windparkzeewolde.nl
