On 20 and 21 March 2019, the 5th edition of the “Belgian Offshore Days“, a B2B trade fair organised by Belgian Offshore Cluster (BOC) will take place in Ostend.
BOC is the association that brings together Belgian suppliers to the offshore wind industry. In recent years, the fair has become the place to be for contacts with the Belgian offshore world. Companies that are active in all aspects of offshore wind development, such as research, design, project development, construction, installation and maintenance, will be present with a stand at the two-day event and will receive more than 1,000 expected offshore wind professionals.
20 & 21 March, Ostend
Belgium is one of the leaders in the development and production of offshore wind energy. Today, Belgian wind turbines supply blue power to more than 1 million families. By 2020, after the completion of the Norther wind farm, the Northwester and the Seamade farm (still to be built), it will have an installed capacity of 2,200 MW. This will generate an average of 8 TWh of electricity per year, accounting for 10 % of total electricity consumption in Belgium and half of the electricity consumption of Belgian households. By 2025, Belgium aims at increasing its offshore capacity to 4 GW. The federal government is preparing a new Marine Spatial Plan that will define new wind energy zones off the West coast.
Discover it all at the Belgian Offshore Days, the Belgian top event of the offshore world! A conference on “sertivization in operations & maintenance” is linked to the fair as well as a B2B meeting, where participants can forge new contacts with business partners from the offshore supply chain.
