Acta Centaurus ready for first assignment

Acta Marine’s newbuild DP2 Walk to Work vessel Acta Centaurus has been delivered from Ulstein Verft and will soon set sail for her first offshore wind assignment.

The vessel is Acta Marine’s second order with Ulstein Verft, following the Acta Auriga. Acta Marine also has the Acta Orion in its fleet of offshore support vessels.

“Building on experience with our first Ulstein Walk to Work construction support vessel Acta Auriga delivered to us last year, we are highly confident that Acta Centaurus will be very well suited to operate in the offshore, and specifically the renewable market. We will now get ready to bring her out to the Offshore Wind Farm to commence work,” says Rob Boer, managing director in Acta Marine.

Acta Centaurus is 93 m long and has a load capacity of 3,200 t and 6 m draft. It is equipped with hybrid battery packs, hull designs X-BOW® and X-STERN® for better performance in heavy seas. It also features a motion compensated gangway. SMST also provide a 3D motion compensated knuckle boom crane which can handle 6t cargo in sea conditions up to Hs 2.5 metres. The vessel features accommodation for up to 120 persons and has cargo areas of 1,000 square metres in total, indoors and outdoors. Source: Acta Marine
