Wind Resource Assessment for Hollandse Kust (noord) made available

The Wind Resource Assessment for the 700 MW Hollandse Kust (Noord) wind site has been made publicly available. The study aims to reduce the uncertainties for a project.

This was announced by Pondera Consult, one of the consortium partners that performed the assessment. The other partners are Oldbaum Services, Whiffle and Deltares. The report was commissioned by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) and certified by DNV GL. The wind climate for the area was determined and verified by using data from met masts and floating buoys, combined with existing data from the KNMI.

Hollandse Kust (Noord) covers an area of around 125 km², located over 18 kilometres off the coast of Petten and will provide enough power for over 1 million Dutch households.

A webinar by RVO.nl, discussing the key results from the study, will be held on May 16, 2019. Source: Pondera Consult
