113 applications from wind projects in 2019 SDE+ Autumn Round

On 14 November the SDE+ round of applications for autumn 2019 was closed. RVO.nl (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) received 7,525 applications for subsidies of which 113 were received for wind energy projects.

The SDE+ round of applications for autumn 2019 ran from 9 AM on 29 October to 5 PM on 14 November. The total value of the 7,525 applications is just over € 9 billion. The budget for the autumn subsidy round is € 5 billion. The maximum annual production that can be subsidized is 43.6 petajoule.

Solar took the main share, with 7,251 applications and a total value of almost € 4.5 billion. The 113 applications from wind energy projects represent a total value of almost € 1.4 billion and a combined power of 640 MW.

RVO.nl will now assess whether the applications comply to the requirements of the SDE+ rules and also assess the projects on technical, financial and economic viability.

The SDE+ is an operating grant, introduced by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy to encourage the production of renewable energy in the Netherlands. As of 2020, the SDE+ scheme will be replaced by the SDE++ scheme. The SDE++ will, in addition to renewable energy, also include other CO2-reducing techniques. Source: RVO
