KenzFigee will deliver two 3-tons electric hydraulic Ram Luffing offshore cranes for the offshore topside platforms in the Scottish Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm.
The marine & offshore crane specialist was awarded the contract by HSM Offshore, in close cooperation with Iv-Offshore & Energy, who are responsible for the design and construction of the offshore topside platforms for the 450 MW wind farm that is built 15.5 km off the Firth of Forth east coast of Scotland and owned by ESB and EDF Renewables. The topsides each measure 35 x 25.5 x 15 metres and weigh 1,200 t each.
According to KenzFigee, the heavy duty 1300 type Ram Luffing design cranes are especially suited for the harsh North Sea offshore operations. The cranes have a box boom with a length of 12 meters, a SWL capacity of 3 tons from deck as well as supply boat, covering sea state 3 according EN13852-1.
The cranes will be built, assembled and tested at the premises of KenzFigee in Zaandam, the Netherlands. In June 2020 they will be shipped to HSM Offshore yard in Schiedam for installation on the Offshore Substation (OSS) topside which is currently under construction.
