Vattenfall is joining the Amsterdam IJmuiden Offshore Ports (AYOP) association. By joining, it will allow the company to collaborate with regional companies that can contribute to the development and operation of Hollandse Kust Zuid.
AYOP is a public-private association with members from more than 85 companies and organizations that are active in the offshore energy sector in the port area. The association has the ambition to increasingly focus on the offshore energy transition.
Vattenfall has already been located in the port of IJmuiden for more than ten years. From here the company operates the Egmond Aan Zee offshore wind farm which has been operational since 2007.
It will now also use this base for the approximately 1,500 MW Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm for which it won the permits in 2018 and 2019. The wind farm is planned to become operational in 2023. In the run-up to the construction, Vattenfall will expand its activities in IJmuiden, among other things by developing a new maintenance center, in collaboration with Seaport IJmuiden.
An active membership of AYOP enables Vattenfall to stay in close contact with regional companies that can contribute to the development and operation of Hollandse Kust Zuid. In addition, Vattenfall expresses the wish to be able to contribute knowledge and expertise to the AYOP network.
