Atlas Professionals has received a contract from developer Ørsted for the provision of 14 local professionals for the Operations & Maintenance of the Taiwanese Greater Changhua wind farm. The recruitment company will perform the activities from their recently established office in Tapei.
The 14 professionals will be part of Ørsted’s maintenance team for the Greater Changhua offshore wind farm, which will be located 35 to 60 kilometres off the coast of ChanghuaCounty and are to be recruited locally. Atlas Professionals established an Offshore Wind office in Taipei, Taiwan early 2020.
For Atlas Professionals the contract marks an important step in expanding their presence in Taiwan’s offshore wind industry. Martine Rondeel, Director Renewables at Atlas Professionals, says: “It is a real challenge finding qualified and experienced professionals in Taiwan. However, we are impressed by the interest in joining the offshore wind industry so far. Working in close collaboration with our clients, local education institutions and local government, we are eager to help preparing the workforce for offshore wind industry in Taiwan.”
The main recruitment activities will take place in the first two quarters of 2021, with the first two professionals starting in the next coming months. The selected local professionals will receive training from Atlas and Ørsted in order to be ready for action in the first quarter of 2022.
Greater Changhua Wind Farm
Ørsted’s Greater Changhua Wind Farm has a potential capacity of approximately 2.4 GW. It comprises the Changhua 1 and 2a and Changhua 2b and 4 sites. Ørsted took the final investment decision for Changhua 1 and 2a in April 2019. Changhua 2b and 4 are to be built in 2025, subject to Ørsted taking final investment decision on the projects in 2023.
