Vattenfall reported that during the summer months the civil and electrical works have started on the Jaap Rodenburg II Wind Farm in Almere-Pampus in the province of Flevoland. The energy company is developing the wind farm in close cooperation with local energy cooperative Almeerse Wind.
The Jaap Rodenburg Wind Farm will comprise 10 wind turbines. Vestas will supply ten of its V117-3.45 MW turbines, each with a tip height of 149.75 metres and a rotor diameter of 117 metres. The turbines are replacing the 10 old ones that have been operational since 2000.
Over the summer months, the old turbines have all been dismantled and a start was made on the civil and electrical works. The latter will last until the first quarter of 2021. They are performed by Reimert Bouw en Infrastructuur from Almere. At the beginning of May 2020, a start will be made with the installation of the new wind turbines. The wind farm is expected to become operation in the second quarter of 2021. It will have a total installed power of 38 MW.
Two of the ten turbines will be owned by Almeerse Wind after completion. “It’s a unique project,” says Hidde Seidel, construction project manager and ultimately responsible for the construction of the farm on behalf of Vattenfall. “Almeerse Wind will generate its own energy with two of the ten turbines. In addition, local residents were given permission to decide the location of the wind turbines and a local construction company, Reimert Bouw en Infrastructuur, will take care of the construction of the wind farm prior to the installation of the wind turbines.”
