The cooperatives Deltawind and Zeeuwind are increasing their share in the Krammer Wind Farm from 51% to 60%. German turbine supplier Enercon so far owned 49% of the shares, but is looking to sell these shares due to a restructuring.
Krammer wind farm consists of 34 Enercon E115 wind turbines on and around the Krammersluizen floodgates, on the border of the provinces of Zuid-Holland and Zeeland. The wind farm was officially opened in May 2019. Deltawind and Zeeuwind together hold 51% of the shares. The other shares are held by Enercon.
Enercon is currently working on a restructuring of all (foreign) parts of the company. According to Director Enercon Netherlands Bram van Noort developing and building the wind farm was a great experience but the company wants to focus on innovation again. Therefore long-term management of a wind farm is less in line with their strategy.
To enable the purchase of the 9% shares, an amendment to the 2020 budget is required. The members of Deltawind and Zeeuwind agreed to this during recent general member meetings of the cooperatives. Both cooperatives are each depositing 3 million euros in Deltawind-Zeeuwind Holding BV. Zeeuwind finances this directly from the available resources. Deltawind will issue a bond loan among the members for this purpose.
Monique Sweep, director of Deltawind, said that the cooperatives are at the same time adjusting the share agreement to increase the control of Zeeuwind and Deltawind with the purpose for a new shareholder to be aware of the unique, local and cooperative character of this project.
It is still unknown to which party the other shares of Krammer will be sold.
The maintenance contracts for Krammer Wind Farm with Enercon will remain in force. Maintenance is performed from Enercon’s service department in the wind farm’s service building in Bruinisse. From here Enercon services the entire southwest of the Netherlands.
