Visser & Smit Hanab (V&SH) have been awarded the contract by Van Oord Offshore Wind, partner in the Zuiderzeewind consortium, to carry out all termination and testing operations work at the 382.7 MW Fryslân Wind Farm.
The Fryslân Wind Farm is currently being built in the Frisian part of the IJsselmeer, south of the Afsluitdijk. The future 89 Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy 4.3 MW wind turbines will be connected to the onshore substation at Breezanddijk by a total of approximately 90 km of 33 kV inter array cables. These are provided by cable manufacturer TKF.
Visser & Smit Hanab have been selected to perform the termination and testing work. The company will start with the routing, termination and testing activities as soon as the cable installation starts.
Onshore connection
For V&SH it is a continuation of involvement in the wind farm project. The offshore wind high voltage specialist was also responsible for the 55 km onshore connection between the substation and TenneT’s high voltage station in Oudehaske. The company is currently finalising the installation of the export cable work.
