The Kapelle municipal council adopted the zoning plans for the Willem Annapolder and Landmanslust Wind Farms on 27 October 2020 with the municipal executive issuing the necessary permits, Dutch consultancy Pondera reported this week.
The Willem-Annapolder and Landmanslust wind farms are initiatives of Cooperative Zeeuwind and Windforce 11 respectively. In October last year, the two parties and a third party, E-Connection, Windforce-11) announced their plans for the (re) development of three wind farms in the municipality of Kapelle.
The Willem Annapolder Wind Farm by Zeeuwind is a repowering project. The existing ten wind turbines in the polder which have been operational since 2003 will be replaced by four modern, more powerful turbines.
The Landmanslust Wind Farm is a project by Windforce-11 and consists of two new turbines in the same polder, approximately two kilometres to the east of the Willem Annapolder project. The turbines will have a maximum tip height of 180 metres and a rotor diameter of 150 metres. The projects are expected to be completed by mid-2022.
Environmental impact assessment
Pondera provided the complete environmental impact assessment, drew up the zoning plans and submitted the permit applications on behalf of the initiators. The entire procedure was completed in a period of just 15 months.
Kapelle-Schore Wind Farm
The third initiative is the Kapelle-Schore Wind Farm by E-connection Project BV. The company wants to replace the existing two wind turbines from 1997 in Kapelle-Schore with two larger ones. The project is put on hold, awaiting more clarity about the dyke reinforcement at Schore.
