Dutch logistics company DHSS won a multi-year helicopter hoisting contract from MHI Vestas for the German Deutsche Bucht offshore wind farm. The company already has a ships agency and port logistics services contract in place with MHI Vestas for the German project.
DHSS will be responsible for helicopter hoist operations for technicians and material to the wind turbines. The company will use Leonardo AW169 and/or AW139 helicopter types. The helicopters are provided by offshore helicopter specialist Heli Services International.
It will be the first flight operations to take place from the Eemshaven heliport. DHSS’ logistics base, from which it is already providing ships agency and logistics services for the Deutsche Bucht wind farm, is located in walking distance from the heliport.
The Deutsche Bucht wind farm is located approximately 95 kilometres North-West of the island of Borkum, in the German section of the North Sea. The wind farm comprises 31 MHI Vestas, type V164-8.4 MW wind turbines. The wind farm is a project by energy company Northland Power. The wind farm has been fully operational since September 2019. MHI Vestas is responsible for the full scope service of the wind farm during 15 years.
