On Thursday 19 November 2020, the last concrete foundation was poured in the onshore wind farm De Drentse Monden en Oostermoer, marking a new milestone in the project.
The foundation was the 45th and last to be constructed. Around fifty concrete mixers were used daily for this activity.
Tower sections
While the concrete foundations are ready, progress is also made in installing the tower sections with seven wind turbines already structually completed, according to a latest press release.
Main contractor KWS is in the meantime also finishing up road construction. The company is currently mainly active in widening (and restoring) the curves of roads to allow for special transports with the larger components to pass.
De Drentse Monden en Oostermoer
The wind farm is an initiative of Duurzame Energieproductie Exloërmond B.V., Windpark Oostermoer Exploitatie B.V. and Pure Energie. The project will see 45 Nordex N131/3900 wind turbines installed in 6 line arrangements. The first turbine was already installed last year in order to perform tests on the EMC radiation level, as per agreement with the owners of the nearby located LOFAR telescope.
