Kroningswind has reached financial close for the construction of 19 turbines at Goeree-Overflakkee in the province of Zuid-Holland. The wind farm will have a capacity of approximately 80 MW and is expected to produce the first electricity by the end of 2022.

A consortium of banks consisting of KBC Bank, Rabobank and NWB Bank will provide long-term financing for the Kroningswind Wind Farm. This is in addition to the equity of the shareholders TDP and the listed infrastructure investor TINC.

Vestas, Eneco, H4A
With the financing organised, all major contracts for the construction of the wind farm now come into effect and construction can commence. Vestas was already announced to be the preferred supplier in September. The company will supply 19 Vestas V117-4.2 MW wind turbines. The turbine has a rotor diameter of 117 meters, hub height of 91.5 meters, and tip height of 150 meters.

H4A is the contractor for the civil engineering works. Preparations for the construction have already started. The electricity will be purchased by energy company Eneco for the first sixteen years.

Wind Fund
The immediate region will also benefit from the wind farm. Kroningswind will contribute € 0.50 per MWh generated to the Goeree-Overflakkee Wind Fund which was established in autumn 2019.
