German turbine supplier Nordex has selected Global Wind Service (GWS) to install 4 of their Nordex Delta 4000 N149 wind turbines at the Ospeldijk wind farm in the municipality of Nederweert, province of Limburg. The wind farm is expected to be fully operational in the summer 2021.
Ospeldijk Wind Farm is an initiative of the energy cooperative Zuidenwind and water company Waterleidingmaatschappij Limburg (WML) whereby WML owns 2 wind turbines and the other 2 turbines are owned by Zuidenwind. Nordex was contracted to supply 4 wind turbines from their latest Delta 4000 series. Preparatory activities started in June 2020.
Nordex Delta 4000 N149
The turbines, type Delta 4000 N149 have a hub height of 135 m and a rotor diameter of 149 m. Together they will be able to produce more than 45 million kWh of electricity annually. The turbines will be installed on TS135 towers.
GWS will organise the installation from their Dutch office in Duiven. GWS and Nordex worked together on various projects. GWS recently installed the first ever Delta 4000 turbines (N133/4.8 TS110) in the UK at Crossdykes, Scotland. Now it is the first time the company installs a Nordex Delta 4000 platform in the Netherlands. Other Dutch projects the companies worked together on are Wieringermeer, Moerdijk and DMO.
The components are brought to the site by Ter Linden Transport, a Doetinchem based company specialized in the exceptional transport of wind turbines. The first rotor blade arrived Friday 12 March.
