Commissioned: August 2022
Location: East of Almere, province of Flevoland. 300 km2 area. It concerns a repowering project whereby 220 single wind turbines are replaced by 83 new, more powerful turbines in 6 line positions
Owner: Windpark Zeewolde B.V., a unique collaboration of more than 200 farmers, residents and entrepreneurs
Production capacity: 320 MW
Annual yield: 870,000 MWh
Turbines: 83 turbines from Vestas
Turbine power: 4.3, 3.8, 4.3, and 2.2 MW
Hub height: 152, 97, 92, and 101 m
Tip height: 220, 160, 150, and 156 m

Substation: Private station at Vogelweg. 2 x 240 MVA transformers transform the electricity from 33 kV to 150 kV
Connected to the grid at: TenneT’s station on Bloesemlaan
Contractors: Vestas (turbines & 20-year service contract), WDG (combination Dura Vermeer – GMB) (civil works), Hitachi ABB (substation), Outsmart (Assetmanagement)

Additional info:A smart detection camera system was installed on a selection of wind turbines to detect White-tailed eagles in time to stop the necessary wind turbines. The number of nesting White-tailed eagles in the neighbouring nature area has increased over the years.
A battery park with a 65 MWh energy storage system is currently being constructed next to the wind farm’s transformer station. There is also a plan for a 15 MW hydrogen plant where incoming power from Wind Farm Zeewolde’s wind turbines will be converted into green hydrogen.
