AGIX Energy BV has won a turnkey decommissioning project in France. The scope includes the purchase, dismantling and removal of six Enercon E66, 2 MW units with 70 m rotor diameter and 99 m hub height at Bougainville. The complete removal of foundations, including excavation of anchor rings are also included in the scope.
The dismantling of the wind turbines will take place starting from May, 2022. AGIX is currently working on closing last units sales agreements. Three of the six units are already contracted for re-installation with the customer from Eastern Europe.
Third project in France
It is the company’s second project in France booked for 2022 and 3rd in France. In April, 2022 AGIX Energy will be dismantling 3 x Nordex N90 2.300 MW units in Plestan, France. All units have been sold to the end customers for a second life cycle. In 2021, AGIX was involved in a repowering project in Rivesaltes where eight Nordex N43 and N60 wind turbines were removed to make place for new, more powerful turbines. AGIX has been involved in the decommissioning scope as consortium partner. The company was responsible for sales of the components and recycling activities on the site.
Other decommissioning projects
AGIX has started 2022, one year after its establishment, with several other decommissioning projects in different European countries. In Portugal, the company started with the decommissioning of a Nordex N50 unit 800 kW at Bulgueira wind farm. It concerns a repowering project whereby three Nordex wind turbines are being replaced by one Enercon E103 2.4 MW wind turbine. The dismantling of the remaining two wind turbines will take place in March. It is the company’s first project in Portugal.
In Germany, the company also executed its first contract. The contract comprises turnkey works on a Vestas V80 2 MW unit on a 97.7 m tower. All wind turbines will get a second life. Source: AGIX Energy
