Wärtsilä’s MethanolPac, a dedicated methanol fuel supply system, will make its debut on a wind turbine installation vessel under construction for Dutch operator Van Oord.
Long-established methanol fuel injection technology is combined with cutting-edge control and automation systems in the new Wärtsilä 32 Methanol engine.
Methanol is a widely available, carbon-neutral fuel that is easier to handle than many other alternative fuels when made from renewable sources. The Wärtsilä 32 Methanol and MethanolPac are among the first commercially available technologies for using methanol as a fuel in many vessel segments.
