Cadeler’s Wind Osprey about to set off for Hollandse Kust Zuid job

Cadeler A/S celebrated today a successful seafastening mobilisation with the Wind Osprey vessel crew and key contractors. In a few days, Wind Osprey will leave the harbour of Esbjerg and set sail for the Hollandse Kust Zuid wind farm project.

From the Port of Rotterdam, Wind Osprey will be loaded with the first badge of Siemens Gamesa 11 MW turbines. The turbines, type SG 11.0-200 DD, have a rotor diameter of 200 metres, and a total height from sea level to the top of the blade of 225 metres. 140 wind turbines in total will be installed at the Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore wind farm. Cadeler (previously Swire Blue Ocean) won the transport and installation contract in January 2020.

The campaign will run in 2022 and 2023. The wind farm by Vattenfall and BASF is to be completed in 2023 and is the first subsidy-free offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.

Cadeler will also perform transport and installation activities for the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm by CrossWind. In September 2021, Cadeler won the contract to assist Van Oord with transporting and installing part of the planned 69 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 11 MW, for the project. Source: Cadeler
