GE’s Grid Solutions division and Dutch HSM Offshore Energy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on additional AC projects in Europe and beyond.
This Memorandum of Understanding can help to accelerate the energy transition by facilitating reliable connections of offshore wind resources to the power grid.
The agreement between GE Grid Solutions and HSM Offshore Energy focuses on assisting the development of offshore wind projects by providing an optimized and cost-effective turnkey value proposition that adequately covers complete engineering, procurement, and manufacturing, including the HV equipment, grid compliance studies, full testing and pre-commissioning, transport, installation at sea, and final hook up and commissioning.
Furthermore, developers can benefit from GE and HSM’s ongoing design standardization efforts, which aim to achieve the lowest levelized cost of energy (LCOE) while eliminating interface risks during the construction and operational phases of offshore substations.
