V117 wind turbines are currently being transported to Kroningswind wind farm by Van der Vlist.
There are 19 fully operational wind turbines that will provide green energy to 65,000 households. The company will handle 171 special transports in total, with 9 pieces per turbine. Every week, pieces for two turbines are delivered to Goeree-Overflakkee.
Each wind turbine will stand 150 meters tall when finished, with a rotor diameter of 117 meters.
Van der Vlist is in charge of all road transportation which represents a challenging project, due to the site’s “difficult” location, with very limited road transportation options.
The project’s first wind turbine was completed last month. The approximately 80 MW wind farm at Goeree-Overflakkee in the province of Zuid-Holland, with 19 wind turbines, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
