North Star adds MO4’s data analytics solution to its SOV fleet bound for Dogger Bank

Amsterdam-based MO4 has signed a 10-year contract with North Star for its proprietary digital twin and artificial intelligence (AI) decision support software, which will be used on all four of its service operations vessel (SOV) fleet.

The four hybrid-powered ships are on their way to the Dogger Bank Wind Farm, which is being developed by Equinor, SSE Renewables, and Eni as a joint venture, and will be operated by Equinor for the project’s 35-year lifespan.

MO4’s technology will support operational data analytics and forecasting to help drive fleet efficiencies, including lower carbon emissions through reduced fuel usage.

To assist in making informed decisions, the digital solution collects data on influential areas such as weather fronts, workloads, work routes, and drop-off schedules.
