Rovco charters Glomar Worker vessel for offshore wind

Rovco has signed a charter party agreement for the Glomar Worker DP2 vessel with Dutch offshore support vessel operator Glomar Offshore.

The 60-meter-long DP2 multi-purpose offshore support vessel will be used to conduct subsea survey campaigns for major operational wind farms in UK waters. On the Glomar Worker, Rovco will deploy a dedicated team of experts to deliver high-quality subsea surveys and specialized offshore projects.

This includes powerful Saab Seaeye Leopard electric Work-class ROVs, which are equipped with Vaarst’s SubSLAM X2 technology to collect the highest quality data in the shortest time possible, allowing clients to save time and money.

The Glomar Worker is a 60.00m multi-purpose offshore DP2 vessel that was built in 2008 and will be completely rebuilt in 2020. It can accommodate up to 44 people. For multi-purpose subsea operations, the purpose-built vessel has a combined deck space of 497m2 and an SMST Active Heave Compensated crane. The Glomar Worker is an ideal platform for activities across the lifecycle of offshore survey, construction, maintenance, and remediation projects when combined with offshore capabilities.
