The Dutch Boskalis-owned Bokalift 2 vessel has achieved the first milestone on the Changfang and Xidao offshore wind farm project in Taiwan.
In Taiwanese waters, the brand-new crane vessel Bokalift 2 completed its first task. The first stage of the foundation installation was finished by the vessel, according to Boskalis, which transported and set up a total of seven jackets for the offshore wind farms in Changfang and Xidao.
The 72-meter-high, 1,400-ton jackets were picked up in the Port of Taipei, and the offshore installation work was successfully finished using the capabilities of the 4,000 ton revolving crane. The installation of the 52 jackets and the remaining pin piles for this project will be the subsequent mission.
We appreciate the hard work and excellent cooperation on this project from our client CIP, the crew of our vessel, the project staff, and all other involved parties.
Off Changhua, Taiwan’s western coast, the Changfang and Xidao offshore wind project with a 589MW capacity is situated. A commercial operation date of 2024 is anticipated for CFXD, which is currently under construction and reached financial close in February 2020. First power is anticipated in 2022.
