EWT completes repowering project in Greece

Wind Technologies B.V. (EWT), a Dutch turbine supplier for localized energy generation, has completed a 19.8 MW repowering project on Greek islands.

In the presence of representatives of the political leadership and executives of the energy sector, EWT and RESINVEST celebrated the completion of the first Repowering project in Greece that belongs to the Greek utility PPC Renewables – ΔΕΗ Ανανεώσιμες, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Power Corporation SA, Greece’s largest power generation company.

EWT was awarded the contract for the design, supply, transport, installation, commissioning and maintenance of 10 wind farms with a combined total of 22 EWT direct drive wind turbines and total installed power of 19.8 MW. The wind farms are located on the nine Aegean islands Evia, Ikaria, Karpathos, Psara, Lesvos Limnos, Samos, Chios and Mykonos.

EWT was awarded the contract through a public open tender, on behalf of PPC Renewables – ΔΕΗ Ανανεώσιμες, while RESINVEST undertook as the main contractor the project management for the transportation and erection of the wind turbines. Source news and photo: RESINVEST
