Heerema Marine Contractors gets certification for climate neutrality

Heerema Marine Contractors is now a certified organization for climate neutrality thanks to an audit, which resulted in the company receiving an official certificate of compliance.

The reduction plan for Heerema Marine Contractors, which aims to cut its GHG emissions by 80% by 2026, has been independently audited by a third party in accordance with the Climate Neutral Certification Standard.

By adhering to the company’s Sustainability Roadmap, which is built around the pillars of Prevent, Reduce, and Compensate, Heerema Marine Contractors hopes to lessen its environmental impact and emissions. The goal of Heerema Marine Contractors is to equip their fleet of offshore crane vessels and anchor-handling tugs with zero-emission technologies. Because of this, the business began funding carbon offset initiatives in 2020 that are consistent with its goal of generating sustainable value.

By doing this, they are able to work on future prevention and reduction while already having a neutral Scope 1 and 2 footprint today. Heerema Marine Contractors will be audited annually to see if it is still meeting its stated reduction goals and the Climate Neutral Certification Standard.
