Fugro expands in Middle East and India with new facility

Fugro has opened a new facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA), increasing its presence in the Middle East and India region.

With the opening of this new facility, Fugro underlines its dedication to providing knowledge and cutting-edge Geo-data solutions to the Middle East’s and India’s rapidly expanding energy, infrastructure, and building sectors.

The brand-new 28,000 square meter building will serve as the new base that improves team cooperation and serve as a regional base combining expertise to provide clients with cutting-edge Geo-data solutions. A cutting-edge Remote Operations Centre (ROC) will be housed in the building, extending the business’s remote and autonomous capabilities and revolutionizing the marine industry.

Fugro has established itself in a number of key important areas in the Middle East since arriving there in the early 1970s, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, and India. Mark Heine and Barbara Geelen, members of the Fugro Board of Management, officially opened the new facility. Also present were Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO & Managing Director of DP World UAE, and JAFZA.
