Peterson bags Hollandse-Kust Noord logistics contract

Peterson has secured a sizable contract by Fabricom Offshore Services, an Equans firm, to support the Hollandse Kust Noord wind farm’s transformation platform in the North Sea, which is located off the Dutch coast.

Following the start of topside installation and commissioning work on the Hollandse Kust Noord, Peterson will fulfill the contract’s requirements by offering a wide variety of logistics services. The logistics services offered by Peterson will be delivered from the Port of Den Helder and include cargo runs, agency, procurement, warehousing, container and tank rental, customs, chartering of support vessels, chemicals, and waste treatment.

The contract was secured by Peterson after it was previously awarded by Petrofac to support the offshore installation phase of two 700MW transformation platforms for TenneT’s Hollandse Kust Zuid offshore grid. By sharing these cargo runs with other offshore energy companies, 47 cargo runs to Hollandse Kust Zuid in 2022 have already been conducted, resulting in an estimated 36% reduction in carbon emissions.

The wind farm, which are about 19 kilometers off the west coast of the Netherlands, are expected to have a combined capacity of 759 MW, producing enough clean energy to power more than a million Dutch homes. In 2023, they are expected to be in use.
