DHI wins metocean assessment scope for 2 Dutch offshore wind farm zones

DHI, global provider of solutions that meet real-life challenges in water environments, has won a tender organised by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) for metocean assessment activities for two Dutch offshore wind farm zones.

One of the wind farm zones (WFZs) is IJmuiden Ver. The second is to be determined. The assessment includes the construction of a metocean database, and a metocean assessment (consisting of a metocean desk study and a wind resource assessment) on design level.

The award was announced on 7 January 2023. The date of the contract conclusion was in August last year. In Q4 2022, a first non public delivery was expected based upon existing data sources. In Q2 2023, a second delivery should contain around 6 months of measurement data from the planned floating LiDAR campaign in the IJmuiden Ver WFZ (IJV WFZ). A third and fourth delivery will contain 1 year and 2 years of measurement data respectively. The fifth and sixth delivery will contain a comparable series for a second to be determined WFZ.

In total four tender applications were received. The value of the contract is Euro 1,500,000 (excluding VAT). The data is part of a site characterization package for end users to prepare bids for a permit tender to build and operate a wind farm. RVO is responsible for this. Source: Tendernet
