The “Hollandse Kust (west Alpha)” substation has departed the Equans BeLux hall in order to proceed with the work at the yard in Hoboken.
According to a social media update from TenneT, the move-out of the topside for the second transformer station of a set of three substations occurred on Tuesday.
This substation, which is being built by Smulders and EQUANS, will have a 700 MW capacity and find its permanent location 50 kilometers off the Dutch coast of Egmond aan Zee.
The transformer substation for Hollandse Kust (west Alpha) is anticipated to be fully offshore commissioned in the third quarter of 2023.
Transformer substations from TenneT are a crucial component of the offshore system. Costs for planning, building, and maintaining these 700MW platforms will be greatly reduced by standardizing them.
