Windpark Klaverspoor opens as first wind farm within the Energy A16 project

The wind farm Klaverspoor in the municipality of Moerdijk was officially opened. The first wind farm to be opened as part of the Energie A16 project is the Vattenfall project, which has a 34 MW capacity.

Six Nordex N149/5X turbines with a 135-meter shaft height, 210-meter tip height, and 75-meter-long blades make up Windpark Klaverspoor. The consumption of around 30,000 Dutch families is equal to the estimated production of this. By the end of 2020, construction was awarded the all-clear. From the beginning, the wind farm’s design and construction took the environment into consideration. For instance, according to Vattenfall, they agree on a 25% local ownership rate and communicate via a neighbor system.

Deputy North Brabant Anne-Marie Spierings and Gerard van Oostveen, head of wind farm development for Vattenfall Netherlands, officially opened the wind farm.

Vattenfall supports North Brabant’s goal of using only renewable energy by 2050 by building this wind farm. The province is combining 8 wind farms under the banner of Energie A16 to fulfill this goal. There will be 28 wind turbines constructed along the A16.
