Osbit expands presence in The Netherlands to strengthen offshore wind offerings

Osbit, the offshore wind technology company, has established a new business entity and office in the Netherlands.

This strategic move aims to enhance Osbit’s local capabilities and better serve its Dutch customer base. With the appointment of Jurgen Zijlmans as General Manager and the opening of its Rotterdam office, Osbit is poised to support the offshore wind industry in the region. This article explores Osbit’s expansion, its goals, and the potential impact on the offshore wind sector.

Growing local offering

Osbit’s newly established entity, Osbit B.V, is now operational in Rotterdam. The company recognized the Netherlands as a key market and aims to meet the growing needs of vessel and equipment operators in the region. By expanding its local presence, Osbit seeks to provide innovative technology that enables safe and efficient construction and maintenance of wind farms and offshore installations globally.

Jurgen Zijlmans, a seasoned professional in the offshore equipment industry, has been appointed as the General Manager of Osbit B.V. With 15 years of experience in supporting major offshore wind projects in the UK and the Netherlands, Zijlmans brings valuable expertise to drive Osbit’s business operations in the region. Sacha Aichroth, an Osbit Engineer instrumental in successful project deliveries, has also relocated to Rotterdam, further bolstering the company’s capabilities.

Global expansion strategy

Osbit’s expansion in the Netherlands aligns with its global growth strategy. In 2022, the company opened its first US office and appointed its first US employee, Dustin Varnell. As a member company of the Venterra Group, an offshore wind services provider, Osbit’s growth is part of a broader effort to advance offshore wind development worldwide. The Venterra Group operates in nine countries, solidifying Osbit’s presence in the global offshore wind market.

Offshore wind hub

The Netherlands is a significant hub for offshore wind development, making Osbit’s establishment of a Dutch entity a strategic move. By offering innovative technology and expertise, Osbit aims to contribute to the safe and efficient construction and maintenance of wind farms and offshore installations. This expansion not only strengthens Osbit’s position in the Netherlands but also enhances the capabilities of the wider European region.
