Concrete work platforms for two German wind farms ready for pickup in Eemshaven

Poland-based production company Aarsleff BIZ has finalised the production, outfitting and delivery of the concrete work platforms for the Gode Wind 03 and Borkum Riffgrund 03 projects for Ørsted.

Aarsleff BIZ, a subsidiary of Danish contracting company Per Aarsleff Holding A/S, was contracted to supply a total of 106 pieces of concrete working platforms. The platforms were produced at their Świnoujscie-yard. The production started on 1 September 2022. The first load of platforms left the yard in April this year.

The platforms are now waiting at the BOW Terminal marshalling yard in Eemshaven, ready to be picked up for offshore installation by Jan De Nul. They will be installed on the TP-less monopiles at two Ørsted offshore wind farms in Germany, Gode Wind 3 (242 MW) and Borkum Riffgrund 3 (900 MW). Jan de Null started the installation of the monopiles in March this year.

The wind farms are located in the German North Sea close to Ørsted’s existing offshore wind farms Borkum Riffgrund 1&2 and Gode Wind 1&2. Gode Wind 3 (100% Ørsted) is expected to be commissioned in 2024, and Borkum Riffgrund 3 (50/50 Ørsted & Glennmont Partners) is expected to be commissioned in 2025.

Under the contract, Aarsleff BIZ is also responsible for production and mounting of aluminium railings, upper external ladder and Davit Crane installation and load testing as well as the Low Voltage scope. Source: Aarsleff BIZ (image from LinkedIn)
