TKF produces first power cores in new Eemshaven facility

Dutch cable manufacturer TKF (Twentsche Kabelfabriek) has announced today that it has produced the three power cores for its type test cable in its new subsea cable factory on the Beatrixhaven site in Eemshaven.

The three power cores are provided with TKF’s unique welded aluminum screen and PE outer sheath. The achievement marks a major milestone with regard to the commissioning of its new cable factory.

Increased production capacity

The construction of the new cable factory in Eemshaven is a smart response to the growing need for inter-array Subsea cables for offshore wind farms. Being located as close as possible to open sea, this offers many advantages for the production and distribution of inter-array sea cables.

The new cable plant will have a significantly higher production capacity than the existing facility in Lochem. The location at the heavy load quay in the Beatrixhaven offers optimal opportunities for the production and distribution of 1,200 kilometers of Subsea cable per year.
