Cadeler’s Wind Osprey sets sail from Rotterdam

Cadeler’s Wind Farm Installation Vessel Wind Osprey was ready to set sail last Sunday 24 March, following a major crane upgrade in the Netherlands.

Wind Osprey has in the meantime moored at Esbjerg Harbour, where mobilization is underway for the inaugural task, deploying the new 1600 t crane for Ørsted’s Gode Wind 3 and Borkum Riffgrund 3 projects.

In recent months, GustoMSC, Mammoet and Cadeler have collaborated closely on the upgrade of Wind Orca and Wind Osprey wind turbine installation vessels. The removal of the former cranes and the installation of the new cranes took place at the Mammoet quayside in Schiedam. Both vessels now have a new leg crane, with a 1600 metric tons lifting capacity at a 40-meter radius and with the main hook reaching 159 meters above the main deck.

The crane upgrade for both vessels was completed in February. Together with dedicated subcontractors, Cadeler worked towards the goal of timely and safe parallel installations of two state-of-the-art cranes. Source: Cadeler
