Boskalis completes Hollandse Kust (west Beta) offshore cable connection activities

Boskalis announced today that it has completed the offshore cable connection activities for TenneT’s Hollandse Kust (west Beta) offshore connection.

Off the Dutch coast, Boskalis’ cable-laying vessels Giant 7 and Ndurance connected all the export cables they installed for the shore connection that TenneT is providing for the Hollandse Kust (west Beta) Wind Farm, also called OranjeWind, by RWE and TotalEnergies.

Furthermore, the 66kV interconnector cable between Hollandse Kust (west Beta) and Hollandse Kust (west Alpha) was installed and successfully pulled into both platforms.

The cable-laying vessels were assisted during the offshore work by Boskalis’ offshore supply vessel Kamara. Currently, Boskalis’ trenching support vessel Ndeavor is still active in the offshore wind farm burying the installed cables in the seabed.

Later this year, Boskalis’ subsea rock installation vessel Rockpiper will also make her appearance on the project, where she will cover the export cable with rock at several crossings with other infrastructure.
