Hollandse Kust (west Beta) topside rolls out of Equans production hall in Hoboken

Last Friday, Equans, in joint venture with Iemant, subsidiary of Smulders, successfully moved out the Hollandse Kust (west Beta) substation topside from Equans construction hall in Hoboken, Belgium.

The topside is being built for TenneT. The combination was also responsible for the construction of the topsides for Hollandse Kust (north) and (west Alpha).

Construction started in December 2022. In November 2023, the transformers were placed. In 2025, the topside will be placed on the jacket which was installed at the end of May this year by Heerema at 53 kilometers off the coast of Egmond aan Zee, the Netherlands.

Two export cables will connect the offshore station to shore at Velsen. The offshore platform will connect the wind turbines of RWE’s future OranjeWind offshore wind.
