Sif and Smulders have signed a general collaboration agreement to further strengthen their market offering, the partnership and its offering to clients.
For over 20 years, the two companies have successfully worked closely together in the fabrication of offshore wind foundations. This involved Sif focusing on the primary steel for monopiles and Transition Pieces (TPs), and Smulders on the secondary steel and outfitting of TPs and TP-less monopiles. Additionally, a Smulders TP growing line back up will be delivered in the near future.
Both companies work together in other areas, for example providing the best logistical solutions for the particular project undertaken or joint product development.
Whilst the partnership continues to play a leading role in offshore wind foundations and the developing offshore wind industry, the partnership was only formalised on project-by-project basis.
