Oostzeedijk Wind farm at the foot of the Zeeland Bridge in the Dutch province of Zeeland has officially been handed over to its owners.
Oostzeedijk is a ‘repowering’ project in which the 3 wind turbines (Vestas V90) of Kats II Wind Farm from 2007 have been replaced by 3 Nordex N149-5.7MW turbines with a total installed capacity of 15 MW. The wind farm is owned 50% by cooperative Zeeuwind and 50% by Camperwind. They were also the owners of Kats II Wind Farm.
Financial close was reached in December 2022. During 2023, the civil infrastructure and foundations were constructed. Construction of the wind turbines began in June this year. These were commissioned this summer. The three wind turbines have now been officially transferred by Nordex to the management department of wind farm co-owner Coöperatie Zeeuwind. This reports Lighthouse Projects BV who were involved in the project management of the project. Construction and contract management for the project was carried out by Green Trust Consultancy.
Closed distribution system
An innovative closed distribution system is being used for this project. This will provide the wind farm with sufficient grid capacity for the electricity production. In addition, neighboring company Kingfish purchases power to achieve its growth ambition. Image source: LinkedIn post Lighthouse Projects
