Bureau Veritas acquires Dutch technical consultancy company Versatec Energy

Bureau Veritas, a global player in testing, inspection and certification services, announced this week that it is acquiring Woerden, Netherlands-based technical consulting firm Versatec Energy B.V. The acquisition is consistent with LEAP | 28, Bureau Veritas’ strategy to build a strong position in the fast-growing renewable energy market segment.

Bureau Veritas supports an efficient energy sector by providing clients with integrated solutions to address their challenges around energy transition and the development and exploitation of renewable energy sources. The acquisition of Versatec Energy is a strategic move aimed at strengthening Bureau Veritas’ position in ensuring technical compliance and reducing industrial risks in the energy sector. The acquisition allows Bureau Veritas to expand its service offerings within the core areas: oil and natural gas, nuclear energy, renewable energy (such as offshore wind), low carbon energy (such as hydrogen and derivatives) and carbon capture and storage (CCUS).

Versatec Energy is a technical consulting firm with a focus on the offshore energy industry. It can draw on over 40 years of knowledge and experience in the areas of: health, safety and environment, operational excellence, quality and technical compliance, technical documentation and training and smart digital solutions. Versatec Energy’s experts have developed methodologies for: Commissioning & Start-up, Asset Due Diligence, Operational Assurance & Readiness and Project Management.
