ProCon supports Smulders on Hollandse Kust West VI wind turbine foundations

ProCon, a Danish supplier of electrical and technical solutions to the global wind industry, will support Smulders in their activities for the foundations for Ecowende’s 760 MW Hollandse Kust West VI offshore wind farm in the Netherlands.

ProCon’s scope of work consists of E&I (electrical and instrumentation) pre-assembly, outfitting, testing and cold commissioning of the 52 Suspended Internal Platforms (SIPs) and the 52 external platforms for the foundations of the wind turbines that are being manufactured by Sif Group.

The work is to be carried out at Smulders’ sites in Hoboken and Balen in Belgium and will commence in the first quarter of 2025. Once completed, the foundations will be transported to the construction site and installed by Van Oord.

Hollandse Kust West VI wind farm is located approximately 53 kilometers off the Dutch coast near IJmuiden and is owned by Ecowende, a joint venture of Shell, Eneco and Chubu Electric Power. The wind farm is scheduled to become operational end of 2026.
