The Dutch Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth is inviting wind farm developers to share their views on the preference of tender procedure as well as the business case and market challenges for the tenders for the Nederwiek Wind Farm Sites II and III (NW II and III).
This tender is scheduled to take place in 2026. The Ministry of Climate and Green Growth is currently investigating which tender procedure to use for granting the permits for NW II and III. Consulting the market as part of the decision making process on which the tender procedure to use is a legal obligation. This is done via an external market consultation and a questionnaire for wind farm developers.
The government will be chosing from 4 possible tender procedures: Subsidy, Comparative assessment with financial bid, Comparative assessment without financial bid, and Auction.
Timeline
The deadline for submitting responses (English or Dutch) to the questionnaire is 28 February 2025. The answers of the questionnaire will be taken into account in the final choice of procedure for each site. This is expected to take place in the 2nd quarter of 2025. The tender will take place in 2026 followed by the announcement of winners in the 1st quarter of 2027. Commissioning of NW III is planned for the 4th quarter of 2031 and of NW II in the 1st quarter of 2032. Source: RVO
